A WAEC withheld result does not mean automatic cancellation. It means the result has been held for review, usually because WAEC needs a response or defence connected to an examination-malpractice notice or centre issue.

WAEC says candidates whose results were withheld or held can use the official WAEC complaint notice to reach the complaint process. For WASSCE for Private Candidates, First Series 2026, the portal asks candidates to enter their examination number. WAEC also tells candidates with notices to check the portal four weeks after the release of results for updates.
