About the 2016 Clark University Global Scholars Program to Study in USA:

Applications are currently ongoing for the 2016 Clark University Global Scholars Program for undergraduate students who wish pursue their academic careers in Canada.

Clark University offers the Global Scholars Program (GSP) which is a special program for incoming undergraduate international students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in their home communities before attending Clark. Global scholars receive guidance and opportunities to build on their leadership skills so they can make a difference at Clark, in the Worcester area, and in the global community.

The Global Scholars Program (GSP) builds on Clark University’s long-standing commitment to providing a challenging education with a global focus.

Criteria for Eligibility:

Successful candidates will be first-year applicants who have the demonstrated potential to provide leadership in their community and the world and who are committed to making a difference.

With regard to first-year applicants, students transferring from another college or university are not eligible for the GSP. High school students who are NOT permanent residents or citizens of the United States, as well as U.S. citizens/permanent residents who reside overseas and will complete their entire secondary school education outside the U.S. are eligible.

Candidates should be outstanding students who are also deeply engaged in their school or local communities.

Global Scholars are paired with an administrator, peer, or alumni mentor who assist them throughout their time at Clark.

GSP participants will receive a $40,000 scholarship ($10,000 per year for four years of undergraduate study) and are eligible to receive a $2,500 stipend to pursue an approved project of their own initiative during the summer after their junior year at Clark.

Students admitted to the Global Scholars Program will receive:

  • A scholarship of no less than $10,000 ** ($40,000 for four years contingent upon meeting academic standards for renewal);
  • A guaranteed $2,500 taxable stipend for a paid internship or research assistantship taken for academic credit during the summer following the sophomore or junior year;
  • A supportive network of faculty, students, staff, alumni and peers;
  • Participation in the Global Scholars Mentor Program, including a semi-annual dinner hosted by the President of Clark University. In addition to a faculty advisor, staff or alumni leadership mentors will support Global Scholars.

** Applicants with financial need greater than the amount of the Global Scholars award may be eligible for additional need-based financial aid.

Scholarship Duration:

The award will last for four years i.e. the whole duration of applicant’s chosen undergraduate study (renewable, subject to maintaining conditions of academic standards).

Application Procedure/Instructions:

The GSP is a special scholarship program for incoming first year students at Clark, and it is geared towards building on their leadership skills.

To be considered for this scholarship, international applicants must submit the College Board PROFILE form by January 15. U.S. citizens must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and College Board PROFILE form by February 1. Deadline for Application

The deadline date for submission of all applications for international applicants is on/before 15th January; while that for U.S. citizens is on/before 1st February.
