About 2017 Cultural Innovation International Prize for Climate Change Projects

Application is currently ongoing for the 2017 Cultural Innovation International Prize for Climate Change Projects.

The Cultural Innovation International Prize is a biennial competition organised by the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (hereafter CCCB) with the aim of incentivising projects that explore the potential cultural scenarios of the coming years.

The Prize seeks to foster contexts and provide the tools to harness the creative and innovative potential of the community. It provides a new space for contemporary creation and the dissemination of projects with the purpose of developing imaginative solutions to the cultural challenges of the 21st century.

Value of Award

The CCCB will award an amount of 20,000 € for the execution of the prizewinning project. This amount will be divided between production costs and the fees and expenses incurred for curatorial duties by the author or representative (up to 7,000 €, including VAT). This prize involves no direct financial reward for the winner.

Eligibility Criteria

The following persons are eligible to enter for the Prize:

  • Natural persons aged 18 or over living in any country. They may enter individually or as a group.
  • Non-profit legal persons (foundations, associations, cooperatives…) resident in any country.
  • A group consisting of any of the above. The following are not eligible to enter for the Prize:
    • Employees of the CCCB, members of the Jury and Technical Commission.
    • For-profit legal persons.
    • Public administrations or any associated bodies.
    • Winners of the previous prizes.

How to Apply

Registration for the competition is open to everyone and free of charge. Online entries only using the form available
at www.innovationcccb.org/registration.

Entries submitted by post, courier or delivered by hand to the CCCB will not be accepted.

The registration process consists of two parts: 

  1. User registration: Entrants must register as a user and provide a valid e-mail address. They will receive a
    confirmation e-mail which will allow them to access the registration form.
  2. Registration form: Once the user has registered, they will be directed to the form where they will be required to fill in the following fields:
    1. Personal details: Information about the natural or legal persons who have devised the project, in accordance with the instructions specified on the form.
    2. The project: Details of the proposal, in accordance with the instructions specified on the form.
      b1. Presentation of the project, using only the established presentation form, as a PDF and written in English, Spanish or Catalan. The form must be fully completed.
      b2. Accompanying documents may be submitted as a PDF to help the Jury understand the project.
