The attention of the Benue State University, Makurdi (BSUM) Management has been drawn to a fictitious social media publication that the cut off marks for the 2022/2023 admission has been released.

Management wishes to inform prospective applicants and the general public that the University (erroneously referred to by the scammers as College) is yet to fix her cut off marks. The said publication is the handiwork of fraudsters to misinform, mislead and defraud prospective candidates seeking admission in the University for the session in reference. For the avoidance of doubt, only the admission process for the 2021/2022 academic year that is currently ongoing in the University. 

Prospective candidates are to note that the University and indeed JAMB are yet to fix cut off marks for the 2022/2023 academic session as there are procedures to be follow before public announcement to that effect is made.

Finally, prospective candidates and the general public are to note that, the 2022/2023 cut off marks of the University would be made public through formal channels of communication in line with JAMB approved policy for that academic session in due time.

BSUM Post UTME Form and Admission Screening Details

Eligibility:

All Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates who applied for admission into the Benue State University, Makurdi for the 2020/2021 Academic Session and scored 180 points and above in the UTME are eligible to participate in the Post UTME exercise of the University.

About BSUM

Benue State University was established by the Benue State Government with the enactment of the Benue State University Edict No. 1 of 1991.

The University took off in the 1992/93 academic year with four faculties, namely, Arts, Education, Science and Social Sciences. Two Faculties, Law and Management Sciences came on stream in the 1993/94 academic year.

A post graduate school took off in the 1998/1999 academic year while the College of Health Sciences was established in the 2003/2004 academic session.

The University took off Nineteen years ago during the tenure of Late Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu as Executive Governor of Benue State. Adasu, therefore became the first Visitor of the University.

Adasu’s successors to the office of Governor who also became Visitors of the University include:

1. Group Capt. Joshua Obademi

2. Brig. Gen. Aminu Isah Contagora

3. Brig. Gen. Dominic Oneya

4. (Dr) George Akume

5. (Dr) Gabriel T. Suswam

The sixth and current Visitor of the University, since 2007, is Dr. Gabriel Suswam, the incumbent Executive Governor of Benue State.
