It is no longer news that the Federal Government has scrapped Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations also known as Post UTME for candidates seeking admission into higher institution.
Following the decisions arrived at the just concluded 2016 JAMB Combined Policy Meeting on Admissions to Universities, Polytechnics and other higher institutions in Nigeria, the 2016 official cut-off mark has been pegged at 180 for Universities, Polytechnic and Colleges of Education.
This implies that no higher institution; universities, polytechnics, colleges of education or certificate awarding institutions recognized by JAMB will go below 180. However, they can choose to go above the benchmark of 180.
Following the announcement of the cut-off mark for 2016/2017 admission by JAMB, the deadline for the completion of the 2016/2017 academic session admission was also announced.
The deadline for the 2016 JAMB Admission exercise is November 30th, 2016. No institution should exceed its quota in admission; as JAMB will start issuing penalties to defaulting institutions.
