JAMB Mock Exam 2026: Date, Slip Printing and How to Prepare

JAMB's 2026 mock exam remains one of the best ways to test your CBT readiness before the main UTME. It helps candidates understand the exam environment, improve timing, and identify weak areas early.

The 2026 JAMB Mock Exam was held on Saturday, 28th March, 2026. Results are now available — see below for how to check your score.

Update (March 31, 2026): Mock exam results are out. Focus now shifts to the main UTME window: April 16–26, 2026. Use the gap between mock and UTME to review weak areas exposed during the mock.

How to Check Your 2026 Mock Results

SMS Method (Primary):

  1. Create an SMS with the word MOCKRESULT
  2. Send it to 55019 or 66019
  3. Use the phone number you registered with JAMB
  4. Ensure you have at least ₦50 airtime on your line

This is currently the primary method for checking mock results. If JAMB enables online checking, candidates can also try:

Remember: mock scores are not used for admission decisions. Use them to gauge your preparation level and identify subjects that need more work before the main UTME.

2026 Mock Exam Format

JAMB extended the mock duration from two hours to four hours to give candidates more time to familiarise themselves with the CBT environment. The exam ran in two back-to-back sessions:

  • Biometric verification: 6:30 AM
  • Session 1: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
  • Session 2: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM

What the JAMB Mock Exam Is For

The mock exam does not replace the main UTME, and the score is not added to your final UTME result. Its main purpose is to help candidates get familiar with the computer-based testing environment and reduce exam-day anxiety.

Key Information for the 2026 Mock

  • Mock exam date: Saturday, 28th March, 2026 (completed)
  • Duration: 4 hours (two 2-hour sessions)
  • Main UTME window: 16th to 26th April, 2026
  • Result usage: Mock scores are not used for admission decisions

How to Prepare for the Main UTME After Mock

  1. Review your mock performance. Identify subjects and topics where you scored lowest.
  2. Focus on weak areas. Spend more time on subjects that need improvement rather than repeating strong topics.
  3. Practice in timed CBT conditions. Work with a timer so you get used to moving through questions under pressure.
  4. Plan your movement. Once your main UTME slip is available, confirm the centre and route before exam day.

What to Bring on Exam Day

  • Printed exam slip
  • Your registration details or other supporting identification as required by JAMB
  • Only approved materials for entry into the CBT centre

Do not go to the centre with prohibited items. Follow official instructions on biometric verification and exam hall conduct. Arrive before 6:30 AM for biometric processing.

Why the Mock Still Matters

Even if your mock score was lower than expected, use it as a diagnostic tool. Candidates who analyse mock results and adjust their revision strategy usually perform better in the main UTME.
