Kwara State has approved the 2026/2027 calendar for public and private primary and secondary schools. The first term begins on September 21, 2026.

School holidays
- First-term holiday: December 21, 2026 to January 8, 2027.
- Second-term holiday: April 5–23, 2027.
- Long holiday: August 2 to September 17, 2027.
Boarding students should return on the Sunday before each term begins. Schools must also observe national and public holidays.
