NEWS: Batch C NYSC Members Pass out in Yola [Photos]

By OMITIRAN ADEBAYO – National Youth Service Corps NYSC Members serving in Adamawa State passed out in a colourful ceremony at the Mahmud Ribadu Square Yola on Thursday the 15th of October, 2015.

The Deputy Governor of the State His Excellency Rt. Hon Martins Nasir Babale and the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Sports Barrister Suleiman Sambo Zumo were among the Dignitaries who graced the occasion. The 2014 Batch ‘C ‘corps members deployed to serve in Adamawa state had completed their mandatory service after a fruitful service period.

The National youth service corps scheme is primarily designed to inculcate in the minds of the youth, the spirit of oneness and brotherhood of all Nigerians irrespective of state of origin and, to selflessly be committed to community service.

nyscWorthy of note is the fact that the scheme inculcates discipline in our youth, by instilling in them a tradition of industry at work being patriotic and loyal to the nation in any situation they may find themselves. Furthermore, it gives the youth an opportunity to learn about higher ideals of national social and cultural improvements.

The Hon. Commissioner said that Adamawa people are proud of the N.Y.S.C scheme as a tool for socio-cultural integration and economic growth. The one year mandatory national service has clearly demonstrated the importance of the N.Y.S.C scheme to this state and the nation at large.

Barrister Suleiman Zumo also extended his appreciation to the good and selfless service in the state within the service period. He wished them very prosperous, fruitful and positive engagements in their future endeavors. He also wish them a journey mercies back to their respective destinations.
