SLUK Preparatory and IJMBE Admission 2026/2027

Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa has opened applications for the University Preparatory Programme (UPP) and Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE) Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Both programmes are handled by the School of Preliminary and Continuing Education (SPACE).

Application Dates

• Application opens: Monday, June 1, 2026
• Application closes: Monday, June 29, 2026

University Preparatory Programme (UPP)

The UPP is a full-time programme for one academic session. It helps candidates strengthen their academic foundation before progressing into 100-level degree studies at SLU.

UPP Subject Streams

• Sciences
• Humanities
• Social and Management Sciences

UPP Requirements

• Candidates with five relevant O'Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, can apply.
• Candidates with three O'Level credits can also apply, but must remedy missing credits before absorption into a degree programme.
• Successful candidates must pass the remedial programme, have five required O'Level credits and meet the minimum SLU UTME points before absorption.
• UPP results remain valid for two admission sessions if a candidate still needs to complete O'Level or UTME requirements.

IJMBE Programme

The IJMBE programme is an alternative admission route that can support Direct Entry admission into Nigerian universities.

IJMBE Requirements

• Candidates must have at least five SSCE credits in not more than two sittings.
• Arts students must include English Language.
• Science students must include Mathematics.
• Social and Management Sciences students must include either English Language or Mathematics.

Fees

• UPP application fee: ₦5,000
• IJMBE screening fee: ₦3,000, excluding REMITA charges

How to Apply

1. Visit the SLU SPACE application portal.
2. Create a user profile with your email and password.
3. Upload your passport photograph and update your profile.
4. Select UPP or IJMBE, then choose the relevant stream or option.
5. Enter your O'Level results and subject combinations.
6. Generate a payment invoice or use Pay Direct.
7. Make the required payment and print your acknowledgement slip.

• Acknowledgement slip
• Evidence of payment or RRR receipt
• WAEC, SSCE, NECO statement of result or equivalent
• Two recent passport photographs with white background
• Certificate of indigeneship
• Birth certificate or declaration of age
