UNIBEN Postgraduate Admission 2025/2026: Requirements, Fees, and Application Process

The University of Benin has opened applications for postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session. The university offers Postgraduate Diploma, Master's degrees, Master of Philosophy, and Doctor of Philosophy programmes across various schools and faculties.

General Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Minimum five credits in WASC, NECO, GCE (O'Level) or equivalent examinations
• Alternatively, four credits at O'Level plus OND (not pass grade), NCE, IJMB, or Advanced level passes
• NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate

Important Notes

• Pass degree and diploma holders are not eligible for postgraduate admission
• Third-class degree holders must possess a PGD to be considered for Master's programmes
• Master's degree holders with 55-59% weighted average qualify only for M.Phil programmes initially
• Ph.D applicants must have a minimum of 60% in their Master's degree

Application and Acceptance Fees

• Application Fee: ₦22,000 (payable online with VERVE or MASTERCARD)
• Acceptance Fee: ₦60,000 (non-refundable)

5. Submit referee forms directly to the School of Postgraduate Studies Secretary

All application processes must be completed by November 30, 2025.
