UNICAL Mid-semester Break Announced Due To Students’ Protest

University of Calabar (UNICAL) authorities have announced a compulsory Two Week Mid-Semester Break for all students of the University with effect from today 12th October, 2015.

Students are expected to vacate the Hostels on or before 6:00 pm to enable Management address the issues raised by the students.

Normal academic activities would resume on Friday, 30th October, 2015.

No Student should be found on Campus, especially within the Hostels after 6:00pm today 12th October 2015.

UNICAL Students Protest School Problems

The University of Calabar (UNICAL) students are currently protesting, blocking every entrance to their school.

The students are protesting the deplorable conditions of the University hostels, especially the toilets in the female part of the hostels.

They are also accusing the Vice Chancellor of not improving and taking the welfare of students seriously since he came into office.

Among the reasons for their protest are, no water or electricity.
