UNIUYO Releases Guidelines for 2025/2026 Matriculation Ceremony

The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has released comprehensive guidelines for the 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony. All newly admitted students must familiarize themselves with these requirements to ensure smooth participation in this important academic milestone.

Ceremony Details

Gown Payment Requirements

All matriculating students must pay ₦10,000 for matriculation gown hiring. Payment should be made through the university portal at uniuyo.edu.ng/eportals under the eBursaryCollect category.

Pre-Ceremony Requirements

Before the ceremony, faculties are required to display the list of registered matriculating students. Students should verify and cross-check their names on these lists to ensure their inclusion in the ceremony.

Post-Ceremony Requirements

Immediately after the matriculation ceremony, students must sign the matriculation register at their Faculty Office. This step is crucial as the university has emphasized that students who fail to sign the matriculation register risk invalidating their admission.

Faculty Responsibilities

Academic departments are required to:

• Prepare and compile matriculation registers for all freshmen
• Distribute academic gowns collected from the Stores Department
• Ensure widespread communication of ceremony details
• Submit completed registers to the Admissions Officer by Friday, December 5, 2025
