UNN Extends Post-UTME Registration to September 7, 2025
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has extended its Post-UTME registration deadline to midnight on Sunday, September 7, 2025. The original deadline of Friday, August 15, 2025 has been pushed back by more than three weeks.
Eligibility Criteria
This extension applies to candidates who:
- Selected UNN as their first-choice institution in JAMB
- Scored 160 or above in the 2025 JAMB UTME
- Have not yet registered for the Post-UTME screening
O'Level Result Updates
UNN has also provided an important provision for candidates who have already registered: those who wish to update their O'level results can do so before the September 7 deadline. This is particularly relevant for students whose 2025 WAEC results were released after their initial registration.
Why the Extension Matters
The three-week extension addresses several practical challenges:
Result Processing Delays: Many candidates were still awaiting their 2025 WAEC results when the original August 15 deadline approached. Without complete O'level credentials, these students couldn't finalize their Post-UTME registration.
Information Gaps: Some eligible candidates may not have been aware of the Post-UTME requirement or the initial deadline, particularly those from rural areas with limited internet access.
Technical Challenges: Nigeria's internet infrastructure can make online registration frustrating. The extended timeline reduces pressure on candidates who experienced portal access issues.
What Candidates Should Do
If you haven't registered:
- Verify that your JAMB score meets the 160 minimum
- Confirm UNN is listed as your first choice
- Gather all required documents (O'level results, JAMB slip, etc.)
- Visit the UNN Post-UTME portal
- Complete registration well before September 7 to avoid last-minute technical issues
If you need to update O'level results:
- Log into your existing Post-UTME registration
- Navigate to the O'level results section
- Upload your updated or additional O'level results
- Save changes and verify the update was successful
UNN's Competitive Landscape
As one of Nigeria's most prestigious universities, UNN attracts tens of thousands of applicants annually. The 160 JAMB cutoff is competitive, but actual admission into popular programs like Medicine, Law, and Engineering requires significantly higher scores.
The Post-UTME screening adds another selection layer, evaluating candidates' academic readiness beyond their JAMB performance. Strong preparation is essential.
