ZAMSU notice: NYSC mobilization — What graduating students must do
All graduating students who have completed their programmes and received their Notification of Result are required to report to the NYSC Mobilization Office (at the Permanent Site) to collect, complete and submit the NYSC mobilization form.
What to collect and where
Report to the NYSC Mobilization Office at the university permanent site. At the office you will:
- Collect the NYSC mobilization form
- Complete and submit the form as instructed by the NYSC desk
Documents to bring
Bring originals and at least one photocopy of each item unless told otherwise:
- Notification of Result (issued by the university)
- JAMB Admission Letter
- Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age
- Valid means of identification (e.g., school ID card, national ID)
- One recent passport photograph
Practical tips when filling and submitting the form
- Fill the form neatly and use the name format that appears on your Notification of Result and JAMB documents.
- Ensure your date of birth matches across all documents to avoid discrepancies at later stages.
- Bring both originals and photocopies. Institutions often retain copies during processing.
- Get clearance from all required university units before mobilization (library, accounts, faculty clearance)—check with your NYSC/Dean’s office.
- Check passport-photo requirements (usually white background, recent, clear headshot); bring a spare photograph.
- If you have changed your name legally, bring supporting documentation (e.g., affidavit) and ensure it is reflected consistently.
Deadlines and consequences
Complete the mobilization process within the time given by the university/NYSC office. Failure to submit the form within the stipulated period may affect your ability to be mobilized for service that cycle. If you miss your mobilization batch, ask the NYSC desk about alternative options and timelines.
If something goes wrong
- If your name, date of birth, or other details are incorrect, request guidance from both the university NYSC desk and the NYSC office immediately—errors are easier to fix early.
- If you lack any document (for example, birth certificate), ask your school NYSC desk about acceptable alternatives such as statutorily valid affidavits or school records.
- Keep copies of all forms you submit and note the date you handed them in; this helps if you need to follow up.
Where to ask for help on campus
For clarifications, visit your faculty office, the Students Affairs/NYSC desk or the Registrar’s office. They coordinate issuance of Notifications of Result and provide guidance on clearance and mobilization requirements.
