1. Read more as much as you can:
Succeeding in JAMB depends a lot on how much information you have gathered from your study time. Get the JAMB UTME 2016/2017 Syllabus and JAMB UTME 2016 Brochure and use them to study.
2. Realize your problem areas, and dedicate more time to them:
Your aim as you study is to find those areas where you are weak and work really hard to revise and review those areas as you discover them.

3. Do not cheat yourself by searching for fake answers on the internet, use that time to read.
Time they say is money and in the case of exam preparation, the more time you put into productive work, the better your chances of succeeding at the examination. So don't waste your time doing things that don't work.
4. Read with past question to see how questions are answered.
Past questions help you to discover patterns and know how the questions are presented so you are advised to study with as many past questions as you can.

5. Try to locate your examination center, at least 2 days to the date.
You will be assigned an examination center during your registration for JAMB so it is very important to locate this place if you don't already know it before exam day.
6. If your center is far, endeavor to be there at least a day before the examination date.
And if you were assigned an examination center that is far from your area of residence perhaps due to late registration, you don't want to be traveling to that location on that day.

7. Test yourself on speed and accuracy.
You need to practice CBT tests considering the fact that JAMB UTME is now Computer Based as much as you possibly can to boost your ability to answer questions on the computer with speed and accuracy. 8. Follow instructions.
In other words, DO NOT enter the examination hall with any material that may/will incriminate you. Also, ensure you act completely in accordance with all you are asked to do.

9. Begin with questions/subjects you know well and be time conscious.
Off course, this is very important as it will help to ease tension. Once a question seems like it will take too much time to answer, proceed to the easier ones you know well and can answer by mere looking and start with those ones.
10. Before you submit your paper, make sure you select an answer for all the remaining questions.
Do this at random, don't leave any question blank or unanswered. Who knows? Your very last guesses may be right.

About JAMB
By 1974, there were seven (7) Federal Universities in the country. Every one of these exiting universities conducted its own concessional examination and admitted its students. However, this system of admission revealed serious limitations and quite often, waste of resources in the process of administering the concessional examination especially on the part of the candidates.
The general untidiness in the uncoordinated system of admissions into universities and the attendant problems were sufficient cause for concern to the committee of vice – chancellors.
These problems had assumed new dimension when by 1976, the then federal military government, under the leadership of General Olusegun Obasanjo,established six (6) additional universities. Consequently, the government set up a national committee on university entrance under the chairmanship of Mr. M. S. Angulu.
