FULokoja Releases List of Exam Misconduct Offenses and Penalties
Federal University, Lokoja (FULOKOJA) has released a comprehensive list of examination misconduct offenses and their corresponding penalties ahead of the 2024/2025 Second Semester examinations, which commence on Monday, 1st September, 2025. Students are strongly advised to familiarize themselves with these rules to avoid severe consequences.
Offenses That Lead to Expulsion
The following actions will result in immediate expulsion from the university:
- Possession of textbooks or notes in the examination hall
- Impersonation or writing an exam for another student
- Answer booklet found with written material
- Assaulting or threatening examination officers
- Staff-student collusion in cheating
- Copying from peers or exchanging materials during exams
- Lecturer providing answers in the examination hall
- Bringing banned materials (bags, cheat notes, etc.) into the exam hall
- Consulting notes outside the examination hall during an exam
- Physical assault on examination staff
- Using electronic devices (phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices)
- Destroying evidence of misconduct
Offenses That Lead to Two-Semester Rustication
The following offenses carry a penalty of two semesters rustication:
- Disrespect or insubordination toward invigilators
- Seeking or receiving oral academic help during exams
- Possession of blank answer booklet without written material
Other Penalties
- Illegal removal of answer scripts: Disqualification from the exam plus two-semester rustication
- Unexcused absence or failure to meet attendance threshold: Automatic failure in the affected examination

Educators found engaging in any form of corruption or collusion with students will face disciplinary action through the University Staff Committee.
