JAMB admission offers from 2021 onward must be accepted or rejected by Wednesday, 30 September 2026. This is the final date announced for candidates with pending offers, including regular and CUIIA admissions. If an old offer is still sitting on your record, do not leave it there because the deadline feels far away.
What the new deadline means
JAMB first set 31 August 2026 for affected candidates to decide. The Board then extended the window to 30 September 2026 and described it as a final opportunity. An outstanding offer that is neither accepted nor rejected by the deadline is expected to revert to Not Admitted on JAMB records.
This notice is about offers that are already pending on a candidate's record. It is not a promise that every candidate will receive a new offer before the deadline.
Who needs to check
- Candidates with an unaccepted JAMB admission offer from 2021 to date.
- Candidates with a regular admission offer that they have not yet confirmed.
- Candidates with an offer processed through the Centralised University and Institution Admission process, or CUIIA.
- Candidates who have changed institution, course or study plans but still have an older offer on their JAMB record.
If you are not sure whether the message you received is genuine, check your own account. A screenshot forwarded on WhatsApp is not a JAMB record.
How to accept or reject the offer safely
- Open the official JAMB e-Facility portal by typing the address yourself or reaching it from JAMB's website.
- Sign in with the email address and password connected to your JAMB profile.
- Open the admission-status or CAPS service shown inside your account.
- Read the institution, programme and admission year carefully. Check that the offer belongs to you and that you understand what accepting it records.
- Choose the appropriate accept or reject action and keep the acknowledgement or screen record supplied by the official service.
- After accepting, follow JAMB's instructions for obtaining your admission letter. After rejecting, check that your dashboard reflects the decision.
Do not give your password, profile code, one-time code or card details to an agent who says they need to “help” you click the button. JAMB's 2026 registration guidance also warns candidates to keep these security details private.
What if the old offer is no longer your real course?
Some candidates have already moved to another institution or programme while an older offer remains unresolved. JAMB's reported guidance says an affected candidate may accept the outstanding offer and then apply for the appropriate correction or deletion where necessary. That is a personal-record decision, so do not guess which correction applies. Use the JAMB support ticket portal for an official response.
If you already have a current 2026 admission and an older offer is pending, the reported guidance says rejecting the older offer should not cancel the current admission. Still, verify the exact records in your account and keep evidence of every action.
The CAPS numbers are not your personal result
JAMB's public CAPS dashboard, checked on 2 September 2026, showed a cumulative 177,217 admissions for the 2026/2027 admission year. The dashboard separated this into 28,829 candidates at institution-head recommendation, 23,133 on desk-officer tables, 40,979 approved for candidate acceptance and 84,276 accepted admissions.
Those figures describe the national system and can change as institutions process candidates. They do not mean that a particular candidate has been admitted. Your own institution, programme and status are the only details that matter for your decision.
Five quick checks before you act
- The domain is an official JAMB address, not a look-alike website.
- The institution and programme displayed in your account are correct.
- You are deciding inside your own e-Facility or CAPS service, not through an agent's account.
- You have saved the relevant acknowledgement, admission letter or support reference.
- You act before 30 September 2026 rather than waiting for the final evening.
