The course is for a period of 3 (three) years, after which successfully graduated candidates are registered by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria to practice as a General Nurse (RN)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Five (5) O’ level credits in relevant subjects that is; Mathematics, English language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology) either in WAEC, NECO, GCE OR NABTEB in not more than two sittings.

2 Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria midwifery registration/license.

DATE OF THE REGISTRATION

Procurement of forms for the Midwifery program will commence on the 9th January, 2024 and ends on the 16th February, 2024. The examination will be held on 21st February, 2024. Applicants are required to pay the sum of fifteen thousand naira only (N15,000.00) through remittal for the exercise.

Brief History of the College

The College was established in 1980 by the then Kwara State government during His Excellency, Late ALHAJI ADAMU ATTAH’s regime as School of Nursing, Obangede, Kwara State. The present site was then Model Nursery/Primary School owned by the Okehi Local Government Council.

The College was given a provisional approval by Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) in June 1980. The Kogi State Government inherited the school as School of Nursing, Obangede on the creation of Kogi State in August, 1991.

Professionally, the school witnessed series of accreditation visits which led to it being granted full accreditation at a time and eventually provisional accreditation as a result of College request for increased (75) indexing. The school has witnessed transformation in infrastructural development and has graduated about 2450 Nurses as at November, 2013.
