NYSC Removes Name Change Requirement for Redeployment of Married Female Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has updated its policy towards change of name for female Corps Members in case of redeployment. Details are as follows:

This update was detailed in a circular signed by Abubakar Mohammed, NYSC’s Director of Corps Mobilization, and addressed to state and FCT coordinators. The circular, dated November 25, 2024, and titled “Review of Criteria for Concessional Deployment/Relocation for Married Female Corps Members”, confirmed the management’s approval of revised guidelines for such requests.

According to the directive, while name change is no longer mandatory, all other requirements for redeployment remain unchanged. NYSC state coordinators have been instructed to ensure compliance, with area office directors tasked with monitoring the implementation.

This policy change is expected to simplify the redeployment process for married female corps members, aligning with evolving practices within the scheme.
