OSPOLY Merges 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Sessions for Degree Programs
Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY) has announced the merger of the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions for degree programs affiliated with the University of Ilorin and Nnamdi Azikiwe University at the Iree campus.
Why the Merger
The merger addresses admission challenges caused by the late opening of the JAMB CAPS (Central Admission Processing System) for the 2024/2025 session. Many qualified candidates missed admission opportunities due to this delay.
By merging the two sessions, OSPOLY ensures that these affected candidates can gain admission and begin their studies without losing another year.
Which Programs Are Affected
This merger applies only to degree programs at OSPOLY's Iree campus, specifically those operating under affiliations with:
- University of Ilorin
- Nnamdi Azikiwe University
National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programs are not affected by this merger and will follow their regular academic calendars.
What This Means for Students
Combined Cohort: Students admitted for both the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 sessions will progress through their programs together as one cohort.
Extended Timeline: Instead of two separate 12-month academic cycles, there will be one extended combined session.
Next Session Starts: The 2025/2026 session will commence in August 2025, giving additional time for late admissions to be processed.
For Prospective Students
If you applied for 2024/2025 admission but didn't get accepted due to JAMB CAPS delays, you may still be considered for admission in the merged session. Check your JAMB profile and the OSPOLY admission portal regularly for updates.
If you're applying for 2025/2026, you'll join the merged cohort starting in August 2025.
Important Reminders
This is a one-time adjustment to address specific admission challenges. Future academic sessions are expected to run on normal timelines. The polytechnic management emphasizes that this decision prioritizes fairness to affected candidates while maintaining academic standards.
