UTME Candidates: Eligibility Requirements

JAMB Score Requirements

• Minimum Overall Score: 180 (JAMB benchmark)
• Programme-Specific Cut-offs: Must meet your course's specific requirement
  • Medicine & Surgery: 230
  • Law: 230
  • Nursing Science: 230
  • Engineering: 200
  • Most other programmes: 180

O'Level Requirements

You must have:

• At least five (5) credit passes
• Including English Language and Mathematics (mandatory)
• Plus three other subjects relevant to your chosen programme
• Within a maximum of two (2) sittings
• From WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB

Additional UTME Requirements

• Must have uploaded O'Level results on JAMB portal
• JAMB subject combination must align with chosen programme
• Must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2025
• UNIABUJA must be first choice or successfully changed to

Direct Entry Candidates: Eligibility Requirements

Qualifying Certificates

UNIABUJA accepts the following for Direct Entry admission:

• NCE (Nigeria Certificate in Education): With merit grades in relevant subjects
• IJMB (Interim Joint Matriculation Board): With qualifying points
• ND (National Diploma): Upper credit or distinction in relevant field
• HND (Higher National Diploma): For certain programmes
• First Degree: For second degree or professional programmes

Important DE Restrictions

JUPEB and NABTEB A'Level holders need not apply. UNIABUJA does not accept:

• JUPEB certificates for Direct Entry
• NABTEB A'Level qualifications

If you have JUPEB or NABTEB A'Level, you must apply through UTME pathway instead.

DE Documentation Requirements

• Upload A'Level results/transcripts on JAMB portal
• Verify all certificates show correctly
• Ensure transcripts are from accredited institutions
• Meet programme-specific grade requirements

Registration Process Step-by-Step

Step 1: Access the Portal

2. Click on "Post-UTME/DE Registration 2025/2026"
3. Select your category (UTME or Direct Entry)

Step 2: Enter JAMB Details

• Enter your JAMB registration number
• System will auto-populate your basic information
• Verify all details are correct

Step 3: Complete Registration Form

• Fill in additional personal information
• Confirm your chosen programme/course
• Upload passport photograph (white background)
• Provide contact information (phone, email)
• Review all information for accuracy

Step 4: Pay Screening Fee

• Fee Amount: ₦2,000 (non-refundable)
• Payment Methods: Bank deposit, online transfer, card payment
• Process: Generate invoice → Pay → Wait for confirmation

Step 5: Print Examination Slip

• After payment confirmation, log back into the portal
• Download and print your examination slip
• Keep multiple copies safely
• Note your screening date, time, and venue

⚠️ WARNING: "Applicants who fail to register for this screening exercise will not be eligible for admission."

Even if you meet all academic requirements, you MUST register for Post-UTME to be considered for admission. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Age Requirement

All candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2025. If you won't be 16 by this date, you're not eligible for admission in the 2025/2026 session.

Your JAMB subject combination must match your programme requirements:

Sciences/Medicine/Engineering

• English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry (Engineering)
• English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics (Medicine/Nursing)
• Programme-specific science subjects

Arts/Humanities

• English Language (mandatory)
• Literature in English (often required)
• Government, History, or other Arts subjects

Social Sciences

• English Language (mandatory)
• Economics, Government, or Geography
• Mathematics (for some programmes)
