UNIZIK Post-UTME Screening: How Your Admission Score is Calculated

2 min read

Summary

UNIZIK reveals Post-UTME scoring formula: 70% UTME + 30% O'level. Single sitting candidates get +10 bonus points. See calculation examples.

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has released the calculation formula for its 2025/2026 Post-UTME screening exercise. Understanding how your score is calculated can help you estimate your chances of admission.

The Scoring Formula

UNIZIK uses an automated grading system that combines your UTME score and O'level results:

Final Score = (UTME Score × 0.7) + {(O'Level Score + Bonus) × 0.3}

This means your UTME contributes 70% while your O'level results contribute 30% to your final score.

O'Level Grade Points

Your O'level grades are converted to points as follows:

  • A1: 90 points
  • B2: 80 points
  • B3: 70 points
  • C4: 60 points
  • C5: 55 points
  • C6: 50 points
  • D7, E8, F9: 0 points
  • Awaiting Result (AR): 0 points

Single Sitting Bonus

Candidates who obtained all required subjects in a single sitting get a +10 point bonus. Those with results from two sittings receive no bonus.

Example Calculation

A candidate with UTME score of 285 and O'level total of 300 points:

  • Single Sitting: (285 × 0.7) + {(300 + 10) × 0.3} = 292.5
  • Two Sittings: (285 × 0.7) + {(300 + 0) × 0.3} = 289.5

The single sitting candidate gains a 3-point advantage.

Critical Requirement: Upload Your Results Properly

You must upload your O'level results to both JAMB CAPS and the UNIZIK portal through a JAMB-accredited CBT center only. Results uploaded through regular cyber cafes will not be accepted and could lead to disqualification.
