JAMB CAPS (Central Admissions Processing System) is where all admission offers in Nigeria are processed and managed. Through this portal, you can check if you've been admitted, accept or reject offers, and print your official admission letter.
What is JAMB CAPS?
CAPS is an online platform created by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board to make the admission process transparent. It shows real-time updates on your admission status and allows you to respond to offers from institutions.
What You Need to Access JAMB CAPS
- Your JAMB-registered email address
- Your password (created during profile registration)
- Your JAMB registration number
- Access to the phone number linked to your JAMB profile
- Stable internet connection
How to Check Your Admission Status on JAMB CAPS
- Visit efacility.jamb.gov.ng
- Log in with your registered email and password
- On your dashboard, click "Check Admission Status"
- Select "Access my CAPS"
- Click "Admission Status" to view your current status

Understanding Your Admission Status
Your CAPS status will show one of these:
- Admitted: You have received an admission offer
- Not Admitted: No offer has been made yet
- Admission in Progress: Your application is still being processed
- Recommended: Institution has recommended you but JAMB hasn't confirmed
How to Accept Your Admission Offer
Once admitted, you must accept the offer to secure your place. You have two options:
Option 1: Via CAPS Portal
- Log in to the e-Facility portal
- Navigate to your CAPS admission status
- Click the "Accept" button next to your offer
- Confirm your decision
Option 2: Via SMS
Send ACCEPT to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number registered on your JAMB profile.
To reject an offer, click "Reject" on the portal or send REJECT to the same numbers.
Important Rules About Accepting Admission
- 4-week deadline: You have 4 weeks to respond to an admission offer
- Decision is final: Once you accept or reject, you cannot reverse the decision
- One admission only: Accepting one offer cancels all other applications
- Don't delay: Failure to respond within the deadline may forfeit your admission
How to Print Your Admission Letter
- Accept your admission first (you cannot print without accepting)
- Log in to efacility.jamb.gov.ng
- Go to "Services" and select "Print Admission Letter"
- Pay the required fee if prompted
- Download and print your letter
You will need this letter for clearance and registration at your institution.
If Your Status Shows "Not Admitted"
Don't panic if you haven't been admitted yet. Try these steps:
- Keep checking: Admission lists are uploaded in batches throughout the admission period
- Verify O'Level upload: Ensure your WAEC/NECO results are uploaded. If not, visit a JAMB-accredited CBT centre
- Check details: Confirm your name, date of birth, and subject combination are correct
- Contact your institution: Some schools have their own portals with additional updates
