University College Hospital Ibadan is accepting applications for its one-year Perioperative Nursing certification program for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This residential program trains registered nurses in specialized surgical care, covering pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient management.
Eligibility Requirements
Only qualified registered nurses can apply. You must hold current licensure from Nigeria's Nursing and Midwifery Council and have completed at least one year of post-qualification practice as a general nurse.
Academic requirements include five O'Level credit passes (English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) obtained in not more than two sittings from WAEC, NECO, or equivalent examinations.
Employer approval is mandatory. Since this is a full-time residential program, you need written permission from your employer for one year of study leave.
Application Process
Visit portal.uch-ibadan.org.ng to begin your application. Pay the ₦25,000 application fee through REMITA and use your payment receipt number (RRR) to register on the portal.
Complete the online application form carefully. After submission, download and print two copies each of your application form and photocard.
Make an additional payment of ₦200 to the Oyo State Nursing & Midwifery Committee through First Bank (Account: 2019704292). This payment covers regulatory processing.
Selection Process
UCH Ibadan conducts entrance examinations on July 2, 2025, followed by interviews on July 3, 2025. Only candidates with authenticated photocards will be admitted to the examination hall.
The examination typically covers nursing fundamentals, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and general surgical principles. Interview panels assess your motivation for specializing in perioperative nursing and your understanding of surgical care demands.
